Reference: The project “Enhancing performance of InvestUkraine: The Ukrainian Center For Foreign Investment Promotion in line with best European practicies” is being implemented within the framework of the Twinning Programme, which was launched by the European Commission in 1998 in the context of preparations for EU enlargement. The idea of this tool lies in a focused collaboration on an administrative level with the candidate countries to contribute to their administrative and legal capacity, to adapt national legislation to EU legislation. Since late 2003 the Twinning tool became available to some countries in the program for the newly independent states. Twinning provides the signing of Agreements on partnership and cooperation between newly independent states and the EU. The project is implemented by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology of Germany (BMWi) in a consortium with the Polish Agency of Information and Foreign Investment (PAIiIZ).
